RORY SIMMONS QUARTET
Rory Simmons- trumpet/flugelhorn, Ivo Neame-piano, Tom Mason -double bass, Dave Smith-drums/perc
The quartet formed in March 2005, performing Rory’s original music influenced by musicians such as Dave Holland, Wayne Shorter and Ellery Eskelin.

The music features elements of groove, free and world music with heavily composed sections juxtaposed with open, free playing. The material involves odd meters, changing time signatures and metric modulations, but the musicians aim to communicate in a more organic way despite the complexity of the music.

These strong musical personalities are committed to pushing the music in new directions with each performance, and developing an internal dialogue within the material.

Since forming, the band has performed at many of London’s top venues including the Vortex and the Jazz Café, several successful tours in Europe, recorded an album and become involved in educational projects.

OLIVIA CHANEY & MATTHEW ORD
These two gifted, young artists meet somewhere between their classical training, Joni Mitchell, and self-taught Irish reels and ballads.

Both subtle and dynamic, this recent collaboration offers beautifully pared-down vocal harmonies, harmonium, harp-like guitars, all originally interwoven through their heart-felt renditions of traditional and modern songs.. Knights in glimmering armour, damsels in distress, incest, love and mischief.

WILDFLOWERS
Samantha Coe, Lizzy May and Paula Leek. Three girls on cello, guitar and piano, all of whom sing. There is a natural balance between the girls who could be true sisters when it comes to character, talent and even looks.

This is what makes the atmosphere in and around the girls so special, they exude positive energy. Writing and singing songs about life as a beautiful journey full of interesting experiences and challenges.

There musical roots can be found in the folk/country pop arena. Wildflowers is the brainchild of the prolific and hugely successful duo of producer Eliot Kennedy and Herman van der Zwan.
