Club Moist

We're back!

After a few months off, Club Moist returns to the Fleapit to kick off a new series of bi-monthly events showcasing an eclectic range of live music, film, visuals and strange noises. Oh yes.

Here's what we've got on offer...

Lucy Jane
Songwriter, pianist and singer Lucy Davies spins quietly powerful tales of domestic disharmony, dysfunctional friendships and other stuff in songs that hint at a strange collison of indie strangeness, jazz and folk.

Her parents are a bit disappointed that they've spent all that money on piano lessons. Lucy is accompanied by Peter Marsh (double bass) and Andy Willis (drums)

Spooner and Hopkins
Not a firm of private deetectives of gentleman's outfitters, but instead the unlikely pairing of twisted geniuses Justin Spooner (electronic type things) and Simon Hopkins (guitar type things).

They have helpfully provided this description of their work -

"This is plain old insect accounting like it used to be done. Only the latest software can simulate this degree of authenticity - only the oldest strings through the slickest boxes are going to sound this modernistic.

If you like proportional, exaggerated ant music you probably already have their album."

That clears that up then.

The Treecreepers
A rare appearance from the duo of trumpeter Ian R. Watson (Lob, Gallon Drunk, The Higsons, Spring Heel Jack etc etc) and percussionist Pete Flood (Union Wireless, Setsubun Bean Unit, Bellowhead). Mixing improv, jazz, ethnological forgery and ambient experimentalism.

They're aided and abetted by fab guitarist Simon King (Homelife, Superstrings, Kenny Process Team etc). Expect sonic loveliness of the hightest order.

And it's FREE for FleaPit customers so spend loads at the bar. We'll be passing a hat round though.
